Nike Run Hit Remix
The night before Barb and I left for Kansas City, we took part in the Nike Run Hit Remix with Taylor and Christine. Before we left we took some glamour shots at the condo.
Of course, mine turned out amazing, but chris looks constipated, must be 1st run gitters. This was christine's first race ever!!!
We got to the race, and the atmosphere was amazing. Tons of people were there, and the city looked amazing. I especially loved how only 90's music was played. One of the weirdest parts of the pre-race was running into some people I went to grammer school and high school with.
Well, the race started and all was going pretty well. Well, until the traffic jam for about a quarter of a mile. We played the red light, green light game. But it opened up and we went on our way. Since it was chris's 1st race, I ran with her. It was a lot of fun. We would run/ and walk to the bands and listen for awhile, then head on our way. The race was a blast. Even though at times, I had to push chris, she did an awesome job. We ended up finishing the run in 1:13:53. I am also really glad that my ITband didn't act up. Great job Ta, Chris, and Barb.

Nice job on the race. What are you doing to help with the IT band issues? Trying getting a compression band for that area. I found that it helps along with Advil and LOTS of ice/stretching.
Hey you!! So glad you finally posted. Great pics...looks like fun was had by all. :-)
Those are great pictures and looks like a lot of fun.
Hello outofshapeguy,
Ive been reading your posts for a while. Im the same guy that asked about the shoes before. I guess you can call me the moreoutofshapeguy. I also wonder what you do to relieve the knee pain. I too have ITband pain, and have found it to be worse since I gained a bit of weight. Do knee pads really help? Is there a set of specific stretches you do (all I do for that is the one leg behind the other stretch). Im wondering if pool type strengthening exercises are recommended. Do you find the slip-on or adjustable-strap knee braces to work best for you. Finally I dont want to seem like Im bugging you, but I came across the Fleet Feet guys at the Triathlon this weekend. They seemed like alright people, but Im afraid of getting the wrong shoe. Im guessing price wise they are about the same ($150-$175???-Asics Gel ExtremeII-a bit much but Im guessing worth it), but I really wish to get the service and attention you got at momentum. Im glad to hear all is well, and I wish you continued success.
Good luck and godspeed.
